One of the pleasures of post-COVID life that I’m looking forward to is the return of eco-friendly house tours!!! Though the vaccination rate in the Bay Area is now above 50%, we’re not quite there yet. So in the meanwhile, Harvest Thermal’s system is being featured on the virtual East Bay Green Home Tour on Sunday, June 13th from 10-2 PT.
Harvest Thermal customers #4, Karen Harrington and Danny Wedding, are opening their North Berkeley Home to demonstrate the Harvest System to an audience of 1,000 or more viewers! As readers of this space know, the Harvest System provides home heating and hot water with a single, ultra-efficient heat pump that, combined with thermal storage, dramatically reduces carbon emissions and saves on monthly energy bills.
With the drive to electrify homes in California and nationally underway, homebuilders and homeowners are faced with challenging tradeoffs between cost and efficiency. But the proprietary Harvest System is competitive with other heat pump solutions and shifts electric load to times when electricity is cheapest and cleanest while providing quiet, comfortable heat and hot water 24/7.
Said Danny W, “We’ve had a very positive experience with Harvest Thermal. I guess I like the fact that it’s very unobtrusive and comfortable. When we had gas heat, it seemed as though I was always too hot or too cold, and constantly trying to adjust it. But since installing the Harvest Thermal System, I’ve stopped thinking about it. I just live my life and I haven’t adjusted the thermostat for the past 3 months. It has been terrific!”
With buildings accounting for 25% of California’s greenhouse gas emissions, the tour introduces residents to innovative ways their neighbors are greening their homes to combat climate change, improve air quality, generate clean energy, and move towards a safer, greener future.
