Throwing Down, Down Under

Earlier this year I threw down the gauntlet to my team: we’re going to install 100 Harvest Thermal systems in California by June 2022… or die trying. And now it’s in PRINT! Thanks to The Fifth Estate for this wonderful profile of Harvest Thermal.
I’m so gratified, but not at all surprised, by the interest in our company with this Down Under publication. With the highest penetration of rooftop solar anywhere in the world, they understand better than most the challenge of having a lot of clean electric generation during the day, and conversely, dirty electricity when the sun goes down. Harvest Thermal is a great solution because our Pod ensures that your heat pump runs when electricity is clean, cheap, and plentiful, but heating and hot water are delivered whenever you need it, often at times when directly using electricity would have had high costs for both the planet and your wallet.
And our results tell the story. A Harvest Thermal system reduces CO2 emissions by 90% compared with gas, and up to 60% compared with a standard all-electric heat pump system. Customer bills also drop significantly in both instances.
