When we sat down to choose our company name, we came back to the question we first asked ourselves when we began this journey:
How can we take advantage of the cleanest and cheapest electricity on the grid, produced in the middle of the day, for use later in the evening and morning when homeowners need it most?
The answer was simple: HARVEST.
What does this mean? The Harvest Thermal system harvests electricity when it is cheapest and cleanest, usually in the middle of the day. It uses that electricity to drive a high efficiency heat pump, which harvests heat from the air and stores it in a thermal battery. The system then delivers heat and hot water whenever users need it. This is known as load shifting.
This helps lower home energy bills. It helps utilities manage a cleaner grid. And all of us benefit from cleaner air and lower carbon emissions. It’s harvest time!
